Here at The Hempel, there’s something on offer for everyone. From quiet trails to market towns and water sport adventure. We can help advise on an array of activities and events that are suitable for you and your family/guests. Nestled in amongst the lake, forest and woodland, the scope is endless. We’re surrounded by walking trails and are approx. 20 minutes away from several outdoor adventure centres.

• Graythwaite Adventure (10 min drive)- off-roading, archery, clay pigeon shooting & axe throwing

• Bowness Paddle Boards (20 min drive)- paddle boarding & boat charters

• Fell Foot (10 min drive)- water sport activites

• Grizedale Forest (20 min drive)- Go Ape, perfect trails for mountain biking

• Bigland Hall (10 min drive)- Horse riding/ treks

The Lake District is the perfect getaway all year round. No matter what time of the year, there’s something available and suiting to all the season.

Where:

• Cartmel Village- It’s the home of a popular racecourse, the famous sticky toffee pudding shop and l'enclume, a Michelin starred restaurant.

• Ulverston- A fine market town with old buildings and a labyrinth of cobbled streets, it’s the start of the 70 mile Cumbrian Way.

• Bowness-on-Windermere- This dynamic town boasts hundreds of shops, eating and drinking establishments situated on the shore of Lake Windermere.

• Hawkshead- Discover independent shops and eateries or immerse yourself in the area’s history – the village has connections with William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.
